Hi,
Currently one mindmap file has one main topic. If there is a 'Brain' terminology introduced then one mindmap file will be a Brain with multiple main level topics. All these main level topics could be displayed in horizontal tab control at the top. Benefits of this approach can be:
1. Organizing related topics in a single file. e.g. there can be a file Life.pmap with main level topics 'Family', 'Professional', 'Health', 'Sports', each displayed in horizontal tab control at he top, and in turn each main topic will have several subtopics etc (the way it has currently).
2. Increases possibilities for adapting organizing techniques like David Allen's 'Getting things Done', Stephen Covey's '7 Habits', Anthony Robbin's 'Rapid Planning Method'.
3. This will automatically reduce the need to save/open files from sub-folders.
4. Less need to switch back and forth from one .pmap file to another.
2. One more thing, currently Promote to Map option is available and works very well. One of the way to display these 'promoted topics' could be to display them in a vertical tab control on the right hand side.
If both these options are available with horizontal and vertical tab controls then bingo it resembles Microsoft OneNote.

Faheem
